Education needs to be constantly evolving, in this context, strategies such as the flipped classroom propose that the student is the protagonist of their teaching-learning process. The promotion of strategies that reinforce environmental awareness and sustainable attitudes must permeate pedagogical practice. Thus, the objective of this study was to associate strategies related to the flipped classroom and strategies to promote sustainability, through the proposal to build models with recyclable materials. The research took place with students in the seventh year of elementary school at a school in Pelotas-RS. The themes that covered sustainability were concentrated on two axes: Biomes or pollution. The production of materials took place in the classroom under the supervision of the teacher and with students gathered in groups. A total of 8 models were produced, 4 on biomes and 4 on pollution. The commitment and enthusiasm of the students in implementing the proposals can be seen. Furthermore, it was found that the teaching-learning process about biomes and pollution was consolidated through these models, since the students demonstrated creativity, innovation and were able to materialize through three-dimensional forms the main subjects previously covered on topics related to biomes. and pollution.
