History of mathematics and dynamic geometry: a new look at Viviani's theorem for high school

Currently, the use of the History of Mathematics and Digital Technologies has been a topic of interest in the international community, as well as at the national level. In this work, the objective is to describe the possibilities of using the dynamic mathematics software GeoGebra for a new point of view of the demonstration of the Theorem of the Italian mathematician Vincenzo Viviani, with the intention of promoting the teaching of mathematical contents in Basic Education. We are based on a bibliographical research having as primary source old mathematical treatises. The ways of using GeoGebra as a tool for construction, visualization and discovery were discussed. Finally, the final considerations regarding the experience of streamlining the representation and exploration of a theorem that contributes to the development of mathematics.
