Covid-19 hospitalizations have generated overcrowding in hospitals, causing the creation of field hospitals in order to cope with the high demands. This study aimed to evaluate the impacts of using video call in the process of bringing the patient closer to the family in a covid19 campaign hospital, based on the principles of humanization in healthcare. The work is characterized as an exploratory research, built from the strategy of experience report, where the study scenario, was a Covid-19 campaign hospital installed in the city of Pedreiras state of Maranhão. First a moment of reading and reflection about the evolutions of the Social Worker, besides the daily reports of the Social Service. This phase was important for the construction of the discussion categories. In the second moment it was accomplished through an observation of the activities developed together with the patients hospitalized with Covid-19. In the beginning, it was clear that there was a low rejection of some patients, but this was due to the fact that they didn't know the technological resources, since most of the patients in the hospital were elderly. From the video calls, it was noticed a greater willingness from the patients, being more collaborative with the professionals. Thus, the use of video calls proved to be a simple and efficient tool for communication between patients and their families.
