Abstract

Childhood Education has the obligation to encourage and promote the development of children who attend it within the different areas of knowledge. Abilities developed within the school through play and dynamic activities will be fundamental to the process of development physical, social, emotional, cultural and cognitive  of children. This first stage of basic education is one of the most important in child development, for it is at this stage that children learn to walk, to express themselves through different languages, to control their physiological needs, among others. The present of this qualitative research is to understand and conceptualize the function of the School of Childhood Education in the development of children from zero to three years of age, as well as the vision of parents and teachers about this phase of Education. Through the analysis of the data it was noticed that Infant Education is still seen as a place of assistance, making it necessary to create strategies in order to bring parents and caretakers closer to the effective participation in the school life of their children, and, consequently, the better understanding of the real function of the institutions of Childhood Education.
