Abstract

The follow paper discusses the invisibility of children and adolescents selling sweets in Ruy Barbosa Square, located in the downtown of Jequié, State of Bahia (Brazil). In order to do so, we will first analyze the rights of these children in accordance with Law 8.069/1990 (Child Act), as well as the Brazilian Federal Constitution of 1988 and by considering this legal framework we will discuss what can be understood as child labor. Subsequently, we will describe and analyze the entries and information provided by the infant “sellers”. For a theoretical framework we used bibliographic research.
